Nursing Support

The Nursing Team at Sullivan & Associates, Inc. is comprised of Massachusetts Board Certified Registered Nurses and MAP Compliance Managers. The Director of Nursing is also a Board Certified Registered Nurse with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Certification and is able to provide treatment plans based specifically on the individual needs of each person supported.  

The Nursing Department supports the mission at Sullivan & Associates, Inc. accepting people for who they are and never giving up on their potential We believe in positive, unconditional regard and provide an environment where acceptance is the only option. 

To this end, the nursing team provides support and direction for support staff in the areas of management of acute and chronic health issues and education and training to meet these specific, and often times challenging healthcare needs:

  • Diabetes education and blood sugar monitoring 
  • Nutrition and diet planning
  • Pica
  • Seizure protocols, Diastat administration, VNS
  • Alzheimer's and Down Syndrome
  • Hemophilia
  • C-Pap and Bi-Pap, pulmonary inhalants and nebulizers
  • Falls and Gait disorders
  • Blood borne pathogens, eps. Hepatitis
  • Allergic reactions (epi-pen administration)
  • Supportive and protective devices
  • Community health issues (flu, MRSA)
  • Psychiatric & medical disorders
  • Medications

At Sullivan & Associates, we conduct initial training and annually recertify over 500 employees in Medication Administration Certification (MAP) in order to ensure safe and accurate medication administration.

After employees are trained, they are required to pass a test administered by the American Red Cross to become certified in order to begin passing medications.

To ensure adherence to the principles espoused by the MAP process, members of the nursing department conduct ongoing site reviews to ensure accuracy.
